This guided open-water swimming tour takes around 2 hours and it was created specially for families.
You’ll meet with your guide in Playa Penca, Guanacaste an amazing beach famous as the safest for open water swimming in the area.
After the introduction part, you will discuss your route and safety rules. You will get your equipment and an explanation of how to use it. After that, you will have a short beach walk to the best entrance to the water.
You will swim with a guide to the underwater rocks to see marine life. After that, we will follow to the island of Chokoyas. Island Chokoyas has an amazing hidden beach. We will stop there to rest and enjoy nature. After swimming we will go back to the same spot, and discuss what we saw in the ocean and what did you learn about the water, open-water swimming, and ourselves.
You might see schools of tropical fish, sharks (not dangerous for people), octopuses, or the graceful silhouettes of 20-foot rays, skimming the surface above if visibility is good. Nature lovers who want to get up close and personal with a variety of marine creatures will love open water swimming in the Pacific Ocean waters. Our priority is safety. Many beaches along the Costa Rican coastlines may not be as safe as they appear, the presence of strong undercurrents or large waves can catch even someone wading in shallow water off guard. But if you follow simple rules, my team and I can guarantee that your family will have an exciting ocean adventure.
You and your family should be confident in open water in life jackets or without.
